Quote For The Week Of March 1, 1999

THE GENIUS AND THE DUNCES

"When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him."

- Jonathan Swift

Quote For The Week Of February 22, 1999

CONCENTRATION

Concentration is the magic key that opens the door to accomplishment. By concentrating our efforts upon a few major goals, our efficiency soars, our projects are completed -- we are going somewhere.

By focusing our efforts to a single point, we achieve the greatest results.   The first rule of success, and the one that supersedes all others, is to have energy. It is important to know how to concentrate it, how to husband it, how to focus it on important things instead of frittering it away on trivia."

- Michael Korda

Quote For The Week Of February 15, 1999

ACID IN THE FACE - NUTS IN THE GRINDER

"The woman who dishonors her husband throws acid in her own face.  She's just too dull to notice.

The man who dishonors his wife cuts his sack and stuffs his nuts into a high speed grinder.  He's just too numb to notice.

If only we could see how we look in the mirror of our soul, we would not be so quick to "dis" (dis-honor, dis-regard, dis-respect) each other.  Ugliness of attitude and evilness of spirit may not show up in the physical mirror immediately.  But then, attitude and spirit are invisible.  So why would we expect to see the effects of invisible forms in the visible mirror.

Time causes mountains to crumble into the path of a mighty river.  Over time, what effect is the flood of evil having on our families, on our lives, on our pretty faces, and on our nuts?

We must guard the essence and the beauty of our soul or lose it as we grow cold and hideous like trolls and gargoyles."

- Khalifa Abdur-Raheem

Quote For The Week Of February 8, 1999

KHALIFA ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH MAGGOTRY
AFTER MENTIONING HIS PROGRESS TO HIMSELF -
NO BAIL, NO MAIL, NO VISITORS

O' Khalifa, don't mention your spiritual progress to yourself or to any one else.   You know what happens.  Every time you mention your progress, it always goes straight to your head in the form of vanity, pride and ego.  Then you always end up patting your self on the back and giving your self credit for God's Grace and Mercy which She extended to you to make you able to be something other than a full time _sshole.

Whenever you mention your spiritual progress - inwardly or outwardly, you anesthetize your self into believing that you're OK and then you think you're making this great phuck-ing impression on others.  Then you become illusion hypnotized into this lull of a dull groggy state where you become slack as you drift off track because you think you're all that!!!

If you had made any progress at all, it stops right when you mention it.  Why?  Because you become vain and puffed up enough to not notice that your mouth has traded places with your rectum (talking _hit, and squeeling and squirming in it like a stuck pig on acid).

Whenever you indulge your ego enough to think that you've made progress - just stop right there and ask yourself - "Compared To What?"  A slug is so impressed with itself when it moves an inch.  How far have you moved from what you've been all your life Khalifa?  Are you satisfied with the one inch progress of a slug or would you rather get over your self so you can go on and make your next light jump?

Maggots marinate in liquid rot for fun - the more the garbage rots and liquefies - the more they love to lay up in it.  Are you a maggot Khalifa?  Then why don't you jump up out of the rot of your sluggish so-called progress?  Why don't you stop being puffed up over your perfect meat head - proud of failing because at least you tried - self impressed, self satisfied, self approving, false, less than all or nothing effort - routine loop back to nothing trip?

Trust God, take the leap of faith into Her Light and don't look back!!!

Slugs and maggots can't fly with the Angels, can you?

- Khalifa Abdur-Raheem

Quote For The Week Of February 1, 1999

CHOICE

Our greatest power is the power to choose. We can decide
where we are, what we do, and what we think. No one can
take the power to choose away from us. It is ours alone.
We can do what we want to do. We can be who we want to be.

You are searching for the magic key that will unlock
the door to the source of power; and yet you have the
key in your own hands, and you may make use of it the
moment you learn to control your thoughts."

- Napoleon Hill

"Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

- George Santayana

Quote For The Week Of January 18, 1999

PRAYER FOR BILL AND HILARY CLINTON

"
Dear Lord please bless Bill and his wife Hillary Clinton.  I don't know that Bill is all that bad.  And I don't know that he's all that good either.  All I know is that you have always forgiven me in spite of all the terrible and ugly things I've done in my life.  You have always held me up and strengthened me when I needed you the most -- when I was at my worst.

Oh Mama God please be merciful to Bill and his wife like you are to me.  Hold them up and comfort them.  They need you so much.  Please take advantage of Bill's trouble to reach out to him and touch him in his heart.  Whether he loses his position as President or not, please hold him and Hillary close to you.  Guide them both to your light just as you have always guided me and please bless all of our families. . .

. . .Amen"

- Khalifa Abdur-Raheem

Quote For The Week Of January 11, 1999

WISDOM

"The universe is one great kindergarten for man.

Everything that exists has brought with it its own

peculiar lesson. The mountain teaches stability and

grandeur; the ocean immensity and change. Forests,

lakes, and rivers, clouds and winds, stars and

flowers, stupendous glaciers and crystal snowflakes, --

every form of animate or inanimate existence, leaves

its impress upon the soul of man. Even the bee and

ant have brought their little lessons of industry

and economy."

- Orison Swett Marden

Quote For The Week Of January 4, 1999

CAESAR'S ARMIES COULD NOT SAVE HIM

"All the swords, shields, and spears of the Legions of Rome could not save Caesar from himself.

Once he lost his ethics and morals, he became poison to his own self.

When corruption and debauchery overtook Caesar, he became as weak as water.

A country may appear to be great because of power and military force, possessions and lands.  But when the leadership of that great country gets lost in swaggering drunkenness from the wine of corruption of power, that leadership falls into pig swill which they then blend into a 'smoothie' with their arrogance and pride.  All who drink from this cup lose their good sense.

Caesar's armies could not save him from him self once he allowed his mind to be overrun by living nightmares of wagging dogs, international conquest and personal deceit.

Atlantis, Babylon, Egypt, Rome, Pompeii and Britain, France, Israel (Torah-Bible), Sodom and Gomorrah all fell from greatness because debauchery and corruption destroyed their greatness from top to bottom.  And such is the fate of any nation that does not require its leadership to practice integrity with pure motives."

- Khalifa Abdur-Raheem

"A miracle is when everybody around you in the hospital is dying from what you got and God lets you come home; and heals your body. That's a miracle.

Quote For The Week Of December 21, 1998

Foolish Mistakes Cancel Joy

"We are foolish to defy wisdom and to then become angry when our arrogant pride does not cancel the result of our mistake.

Error brings no comfort and only a change of heart can reunite us with the fountain of joy inside of our self."

- Khalifa Abdur-Raheem

Quote For The Week Of December 7, 1998

"Middle Of The Road"

"We know what happens to people who stay in the middle of the road. They get run over."

- Aneurin Bevan (1897-1960),
British Labour politician.
Quoted in: Observer
(London, 9 Dec. 1935).

Quote For The Week Of December 1, 1998

To Flow Or To Fear

"When we stay in the flow, we don’t have to live in fear.  We cannot afford to allow fear of lightning, poverty, illness, or fear of loss of love to overtake us.  These fears attract dogs from hell right straight to us. Fear always attracts the thing we're afraid of.

When we conquer our fear and stay in the flow of God’s Will, we are automatically guided out from harm’s way and into what is next for us.  We absolutely cannot afford to sit up and eat fear burgers, worry burgers and doubt burgers.

The problem comes when we think that we are supposed to have the say so over how the flow is flowing.  The flow of God's Will takes turns we don't understand or accept some times.  But when we submit and go with it, we always live to find out that He knew just what He was doing."

- Khalifa Abdur-Raheem

Quote For The Week Of Novembember 16, 1998

SUCCESS

"Success means doing the best we can with what we have.

Success is in the doing, not the getting -- in the

trying, not the triumph. Success is a personal standard --

reaching for the highest that is in us -- becoming all

that we can be. If we do our best, we are a success.

The greatest thing a man can do in this world is to

make the most possible out of the stuff that has been

given to him. This is success, and there is no other."

- Orison Swett Marden

Quote For The Week Of Novembember 9, 1998

TREACHERY

"The treacherous person can never afford to trust or love anyone. Why?  Because the treacherous one knows that their love or trust can become the avenue down which the caravan of "payback" can come and carry them to their reward for all the hurt and pain they've caused to others.

Whenever we stop practicing treachery (betraying trust and love), happiness begins to fill our hearts automatically."

- Khalifa Abdur-Raheem

Quote For The Week Of Novembember 2, 1998

BELIEF

"These, then, are my last words to you; Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact."

- William James

Quote For The Week Of October 26, 1998

CIRCUMSTANCE

We can know what people are thinking by looking at what they do. Actions mirror thoughts. And by taking a good look at where we are and what we are doing, we can understand what we are thinking. The thoughts we have chosen have brought us where we are today.

"Every man is where he is by the law of his being; the thoughts which he has built into his character have brought him there."

- James Allen

Quote For The Week Of October 12, 1998

HAPPINESS

We are happy when we are using our potential.  Striving against difficulties and overcoming them -- reaching for achievement and finding it -- this is happiness. We are happy when we are learning, growing, and accomplishing.  Working toward a worthy goal that demands our best is the secret of happiness.

"Happiness is the full use of your powers along lines of excellence in a life affording scope."

-John F. Kennedy

Quote For The Week Of September 28, 1998

The thing that's artificial - we have to glamorize."

- Khalifa Abdur-Raheem

Quote For The Week Of September 21, 1998

POSSIBILITIES

There are no limits to our possibilities.   At any moment, we have more possibilities than we can act upon. When we imagine the possibilities, our vision expands, we capture our dreams, and our life is full. We can reach out and touch the limits of our being.  "There is far more opportunity than there is ability."

- Thomas A. Edison

Quote For The Week Of September 7, 1998

PERSISTENCE

"In each age, men of genius undertake the ascent.
From below, the world follows them with their eyes.
These men go up the mountain, enter the clouds,
disappear, reappear.  People watch them, mark them.

They walk by the side of precipices.  They daringly
pursue their road.  See them aloft, see them in the
distance; they are but black specks.  On they go.
The road is uneven, its difficulties constant.
At each step a wall, at each step a trap.  As they
rise the cold increases.  They must make their
ladder, cut the ice and walk on it, hewing the
steps in haste.  A storm is raging. Nevertheless
they go forward in their madness.  The air becomes
difficult to breathe.  The abyss yawns below them.
Some fall.  Others stop and retrace their steps;
there is a sad weariness.

The bold ones continue.  They are eyed by the
eagles; the lightning plays about them; the hurricane
is furious.  No matter, they persevere."

- Victor Hugo

Quote For The Week Of August 17, 1998

Be In The Moment . . .

Whatever we be in the moment is now our ever. We are living in a continuum where there is no time of now that is separate from now-ever.  Our former concept of forever as being separate from this moment has expired.

In the current and present moment, eternity is in full bloom through our free will choice to either live and love or to crash and burn. Let us, therefore, commit to being our best self in the moment so that we may have an ever-beautiful now-ever, ever more so, right here, right now.

- Khalifa Abdur-Raheem

Quote For The Week Of August 10, 1998

MOTIVATION

"We may think there is willpower involved, but more

new addiction more than the old one. Wanting the

new me in preference to the ... person I am now."

- George Sheehan

Quote For The Week Of August 3, 1998

Quote For The Week Of July 20, 1998

IMAGINATION

"My method is different. I do not rush into actual work.  When I get a new idea, I start at once building it up in my imagination, and make improvements and operate the device in my mind ... When I have gone so far as to embody everything in my invention, every possible
improvement I can think of, and when I see no fault anywhere, I put into concrete form the final product of my brain."

- Nikola Tesla

Looking Down On Others

"Whenever I choose to look down my nose at anyone else, I automatically and immediately begin sinking to the low level I say they’re on. If I keep doing it, I cannot help but ending up in the same or a worse position than the one that I say they’re in.

Whether I am looking down to pity or to help, the result is the same – I sink lower and lower myself. Soon, I will see the disaster that I have brought on myself."

Quote For The Week Of July 6, 1998

FAILURE

"Successful people are not afraid to fail. They accept their failures and continue on, knowing that failure is a natural consequence of trying. They go from failure to failure, until at last success is theirs.

The law of failure is one of the most powerful of all success laws: we fail only when we can't accept failure.

The wise man realistically accepts failure as a part of life and builds a philosophy to meet them and make the most of them. He lives on the principle of 'nothing attempted, nothing gained' and is resolved that if he fails he is going to fail while trying to succeed."

- Wilfred A. Peterson

Quote For The Week Of June 22, 1998

GROWTH

"The sculptor will chip off all unnecessary material
to set free the angel. Nature will chip and pound
us remorselessly to bring out our possibilities.
She will strip us of wealth, humble our pride,
humiliate our ambition, let us down from the ladder
of fame, will discipline us in a thousand ways,
if she can develop a little character. Everything
must give way to that. Wealth is nothing, position
is nothing, fame is nothing, manhood is everything."

Grappling with hardships, trouble, and calamity;

Quote For The Week Of May 11, 1998

BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOME

We are all surrounded by real and imagined difficulties. There is only one question. How can we have the best possible outcome inspite of the difficulties?

The difficulties may not go away, but our motive towards each other should always be to help eachother have the best possible outcome.

This way, our own unified goodness has a worthy chance of overpowering each and every difficulty we have to face.

The worse the situation is, the more we need the best possible outcome.

Quote For The Week Of April 20, 1998

EGO

When we use ego as a substitute for well being, we always dig a deeper and deeper hole for ourselves. The problem is, we don't find out how deep the hole is until we fall into it.

The ego is nothing but a thin mask for insecurity. The more life force and power we give to our false ego, the worse we feel and the more we have to do to pick ourselves up from our last "ego bubble" crash.

TIME MANAGEMENT

"Time can't be managed. But what can be managed are our activities and how we "spend" time. And all the experts agree: managing our activities begins with planning. So by knowing what's important for us -- planning our work and working our plan -- we become wise managers.

We realize our dilemma goes deeper than shortage of time; it is basically a problem of priorities ... We confess ... "We have left undone those things
that we ought to have done; and we have done those things which we ought not to have done."

SERVICE

"No one achieves greatness without being of service. Service is the essence of greatness. All great men and women became great because they gave some talent or ability in the service of others. No person was ever honored for what he received; honor has been the reward for what he gave."
