We have to find the middle path.
Not too angry, not too calm.
Not too happy, not too sad.
Not focusing on the good nor focusing on the evil.
Not too proud and not to meek.
When we find the happy medium; then we have a chance at remaining steadfast.
We become unmovable as the mountain.
When we operate under the opposites of good and bad or happy and sad, fortune and misfortune; then we become victims of circumstance.
With
the middle way, we stand steady as a rock
and are unmoved by the ever changing circumstances of life.
If good comes we are not too excited, if bad comes we are not too depressed.
This
middle path makes us masters
over our circumstances and then
circumstances don't and can't master us.
